The One Important Secret to Being Successful in Voice Over. - 3:34

Hey guys! On today's episode of The Gift of Gab, I want to talk to you about how to become a six figure voice actor. It's doable. Not only is it doable, it's pretty common. There are loads and loads of people in the voice over industry that are making a hundred thousand dollars plus each year, and I'm gonna reveal to you how they got there, how they did it, and how you can do it. You ready? Big secret... work your ass off... Hey, me again. So, yeah, that's the deal. Can you do it? Absolutely. Is it achievable? Totally! But how you're gonna get there is lots and lots of hard work. There's no secret. There's no big reveal. There's no hidden truth. There's no amount of promises that can be made to achieve this. It's really simple, and yet it's really hard all at the same time. You put in the work, you put in the time. The 10,000 hour rule is very, very real in the voiceover industry. If you don't know what I'm talking about, this is a really standard business rule that says to become proficient in something, not an expert, just proficient - takes ten thousand hours. Ten thousand hours behind the mic, ten thousand hours in your studio, ten thousand hours editing audio. It takes time. There's no such thing as an overnight success in voiceover! There's very little overnight success in the performing arts in general, so if you're seeing this career as this glamorous way to make money and to do it fast, no - that's not how it works, okay? It took me 10 years to become an overnight success. It took me 10 years to get to the place of having an established business. It took double that to get where I am right now, okay? If you want to be there, you can you can join that club - six figures and beyond. Super realistic in this industry, but you've got to be willing to put in the hard work, the effort, and the time. Thanks for watching guys. I'm hoping I didn't burst any bubbles. If you're wanting to know more about this process, more of how you can put in this hard work, what it entails, what is expected of you to get to the point of being a six figure voice actor, then you want to check out my book VO 101. It's the beginning, it's the starting ground, it's going to help you establish the foundation that gets you on that road to six figures. Hey guys, thanks so much for watching. If you want to be featured on an upcoming Gift of Gab, or you just have a question for me that you'd love for me to answer about voiceover and your voiceover career, send it over! I'm happy to do it.
