VO scams have been around forever. But this new one on Linkedin is really going strong. Know what to look out for.

Remember the video that I did not that long ago about voiceover scams and a brand new one that happened on LinkedIn?
Guess what? It’s back. This is wild.
So, the exact same company that posted and resulted in the scam video off of LinkedIn that I did not that long ago—like, it was really just like a month or so—um, they started the exact same scam all over again. Identical. Same platform, right through LinkedIn.
And this time, instead of targeting a beauty company, they targeted a company called ThinkMojo.
And um, so of course, immediately, right? Everybody went onto the ThinkMojo site and contacted them. And the results are, in my opinion, hysterical.
Almost immediately I got an email—probably along with who knows how many other voice actors—from somebody, one of the partners actually, at ThinkMojo: Andrew Morrison. And he said:
"It has come to our attention that individuals are fraudulently identifying themselves as representatives from our company. Christine Krawl and Aaron Chappelle have no association with our brand or business. Please be advised that any correspondence from ThinkMojo would, of course, be sent through thinkmojo.com or .net and our email addresses."
So they used, you know, like thinkmoojo.creatives@gmail.com as the respond email.
And you know, they’re very sorry that these people have wasted our times. But anyway, it’s just the craziest thing.
ThinkMojo actually said, “Please feel free to spread the word about this and help people to know that this is bogus.”
In addition to that—and I thought this was great, because I don’t believe the beauty brand company did this—this is epic: they actually sent a formal cease and desist and CC’d anyone who was involved in communicating with them. Basically telling these people that they had to stop their activities immediately, because not only are they unauthorized to solicit talent, but more significantly, they’re impersonating ThinkMojo.com.
That was pretty freaking cool.
And um, again—it’s all over LinkedIn. If you want to see it, there are Reddit forums about it now too. But anyway—just go ahead, do yourself a favor: Watch the first video that I posted on this whole situation. Get yourself familiar with it .And just know that if you see almost these identical specs and terms come your way through LinkedIn...
It’s a scam.

planorial.com was the first thing that came to mind when reading about this new LinkedIn scam twist. It's a good reminder that even professional networks need a healthy dose of skepticism these days.
